What is the Project Data Analytics night all about?

Martin Paver, founder of the London Project Data and Analytics meetup is a man with a mission. He has a passionate believe that we can make the world of projects delivery a better place improving the way we leverage data within projects, programs and portfolios. He is striving to overcome some of the practical constraints that prevent the full value of projects data being realized and he is working to shine a light on teams that are using projects data to resolve real-world project challenges. As well as exploring how projects data can be exploited using traditional approaches, his meetups often explore how machine learning and AI can be deployed to resolve challenges - drawing on expertise from big big data experts and PMO experts.

In little over a year, the London Project Data Analytics meetup group has amassed a following of almost 2,000 members. Their events typically start with beer and pizza (courtesy of their sponsors), and provide a round up of the latest industry news, and have an engaging speaker. They’ve even run a project data weekend hackathon, with a second in the pipeline.

This meetup will be different as Martin will be running an interactive workshop to explore how the growing community should be leveraged for the collective benefit of members and society. Martin notes that in the UK alone, there is a pipeline of £600bn (762bn USD) infrastructure projects over the next ten years. The Project Data Analytics community has a major role to play in ensuring that money is invested wisely in projects that deliver their benefits. The role project data analysis plays is not limited to major infrastructure projects - it can benefit IT projects, business change, marine and defence projects alike.

During the evening, attendees will be challenged with some big questions:

  • How should the community develop and what should it aim to achieve?

  • How do we convince organisations to pool and share data for the benefit of all?

  • How do we upskill and connect people to create a critical mass of expertise to deliver change?

The London Project Data Analytics meetup is more than just a meetup-and-talk session, it has a transformational agenda that aims to change the way projects data is collected and used to improve projects delivery, projects success and projects outcomes.

If you are passionate about the future of Project Data Analytics, I strongly recommend you attend and make your voice heard - and hear from others at the leading edge. Arrive prepared with some great ideas, vision and a passion to make a difference. In Martin’s words: The future of how projects are delivered is about to change forever.
