What is the Gartner Program & Portfolio Management Summit all about?

As a rule, I avoid sharing events on here that are not purely focused on the PMO. However I decided to include this one for a couple of reasons. Firstly, it is focused at the strategic level - the space that Executive Level PMOs often operate at. Secondly, it includes a Senior Leadership track aimed squarely at individuals who report directly to a C-level executive and are an active Head of PMO, Program, Business Transformation or Change.

There are a number of sessions that will appeal to PMO Leaders - here's my pick of the crop:

The Future of PPM - Joanne Kopcho & George Martin

This session explores the role of the PMO in a digital world. It acknowledges the fact that many PMOs that have been around for the long-haul were designed to address a different set of challenges to the ones being posed by digital transformation. Kopcho and Martin explore how yesterday's PMOs rise to the challenge of digitization.

How Can PMOs Deliver Faster Results With Business Agile? - Michelle M. Coelho

Coelho explores how PMOs can leverage a business agile mindset to enable faster delivery, improve collaboration and focus on customer value.

PPM Operating Model Latest Trends - George Martin & Peter Green

As business become more digital and the overall delivery operating model needs to transform. Planning and execution are no longer solely through projects and organizations are shifting to a product orientation. So how are organizations transforming their PPM operating model to embrace the future?

Financial Management in Agile Development: What Changes, What Doesn't - Jim McGittian

Agile development practices potentially change many things about how to effectively balance cost, risk and value. It does not however change the need to ensure that the most value is delivered for the money while managing an acceptable level of risk. In this session Jim McGittian explores best practices to realign financial governance around funding, budgeting and business cases.
